What is the difference between a M.S graduate degree and a Masters graduate degree ?
Some colleges and universities in the U.S. name their graduate degrees as M.S in "abc " eg) M.S., in Computer Science, M.S., in Information Technology and M.S., in Software Engineriing while some "only" name these deegrees as Master of "abc" eg) Master of Information Systems, Master of Information Technology and Master of in Software Engineriing What is the difference between between a grduate degree being called as Master of "abc" and M.S in "abc "? Is the difference between those graduate degrees which do not have pre-requisite courses being called as Master of "abc" and those with a requirement of pre-requisite courses calling as M.S in "abc "? Or their is no difference whatsoever in this nomenclature? Its is just a University and College policy to name their particular graduate degree as M.S in "abc " and Master of "abc"? Can anyone throw some light on this?

The exact degree requirements will vary slightly depending upon the educational institution itself. Where I went to school you could get a "Master of 'abc'" or a "M.S. of 'abd'". (Note the regular "Masters" was also known as the Masters of Arts degree.) The difference being that the M.S. degree required a few extra courses in the degree plan and these courses were required to be a specific science designated within the degree. In some cases the "M.S." degree requirements were also more involved in the research project. In any case the M.S. degree requirements are generally more demanding than the Masters of Arts degree.

Master's degrees fall into various categories, but there are generally 4 or so overarching categories. M.A. Master's of Arts - most fine arts, humanities, and behavioral science degrees (sociology, economics) fall into this category M.S. Master's of Science - most natural science, computer science and sometimes behavioral science (especially applied, like applied psychology or counseling psychology) fall into this category. {just as an aside, some schools, like Johns Hopkins, refers to their M.S. degrees as Sci.M, but for all intents and purposes, its the same} M. Ed - Master's in Education. Meaning you have a degree in one of the Educational disciplines, like...Education, or Special Ed, or Instruction, or Guidance and Counseling, etc. MSW - Master's of Social Work. Having a concentration in that one field. Similarly, an MDiv is a Master's of Divinity, having a concentration in this. So is a Master's in Public Health (MPH). These are considered SPECIALIZED degrees, in fields that aren't arts, science, or education, but sort of a combination. MBA - Master's of Business Administration. Similar to the specialized degree, however, in the working world, an MBA is considered a TERMINAL degree, meaning it is considered the highest one can achieve in a given field {which translates into "more pay". And frankly, it's not true anymore; there are doctorate's in Business Admin, but virtually all of them teach} Other examples of terminal degrees are PhDs, JDs (law degrees), MDs, and (to some degree) MPH {although there are DPHs}. When you get down to it, the difference between a Master's of Information Technology and an M.S. in Information Tech is all semantics; technically a Master's in IT is an MS in IT. Nobody sees you as "more qualified" because you are one or the other. Hope that clarifies it for you.
3
well, the MS has the more general discipline and that it is more broad and quite "hard". on the other hand a Master's degree focuses on specific disciplines to which the specialization is more defined than the MS degree.

Which IT degree will help me work from home
Which IT degree will help me work from home?
I am a young professional, almost 2 years out of college with a Bachelors in engineering, and I work in the Information Technology industry (I'm currently a software tester). I want to find a job I can do from home, but they are few and far between. Would a Masters degree (in Information Technology) help me find a telecommuting position? I want to work in software, not call-center stuff or telemarketing. Does anyone have tips on what telecommuting managers are looking for, or if there's anything else I should be doing? A side note - I work for the government as a contractor, and in my group the gov. employees are allowed to work from home once a week, but not the contractors. It's frustrating!

Why not try to make yourself extremely valuable on your current contract by delivering consistent results? Then you might be able to make the case that the perk of working from home should be extended to contractors too. If you are able to prove how productive you are working from home, you might be able to increase the number of days that you work from home. I don't think obtaining a master's degree would help you to get a telecommuting position.

Is it possible for a foreign national to obtain the Citizenship (or Permanent Residency) of Jordan in any way?
I am an Indian national. I am in my early twenties. I have a Masters degree in Information Technology. I am planning to work in Jordan soon. Once I retire, I want to live in Jordan permanently. But I'm worried as to whether it is possible for a foreign national to live in Jordan permanently after retirement? Is it possible for me to live in Jordan permanently by marrying a Jordanian citizen? Is there any other way? Please explain.

I got a BA in art, can I get my MA in technology management?
I have no knowledge of programming at all. I only know a little html and CSS, but not C++. Can I apply to the Master's program for technology management, and they'll teach me programming there? Or should I get an associate's degree in information technologies THEN go get my masters? Can you recommend me some schools? I heard they have to be accredited with some tech organization to really get my money's worth. Help?

You can always apply, but there will probably be prerequisites that you don't have. Check with the admissions/advising department for the tech program you want and ask them what they recommend. You might not need to get an Associates, you might just need a few extra classes. They can tell you about the accredidation recommendations as well and maybe recommend some good volunteer experience that might increase your chances. Good luck!

Not all Technology is Computers. If you specialize in Transportation when you take Technology Management, you do not need to know any programming at all. Zero. Zip.

I am not familiar with either Uni, but I would recommend going across the creek to NZ, perhaps Otago or Canterbury. I was an international student in music at Canterbury for 5 months in 2005 and loved every moment of it. They manage all their IT stuff in-house with their own students, I think. You may want to look into it.

Try http://www.australian-universities.com/ for links to all Australian universities and rankings. Sydney is major city and Canberra is a relatively small town populated mostly by federal public servants. Canberra is probably cheaper for people who live there permanently but has fewer accommodation choices for students so the average cost is likely to work out higher. Parts of Sydney will have very expensive accommodation (but that's not where students live anyway). The costs of services, groceries, etc will be very much the same. Sydney has better public transport but Canberra is smaller and less complicated to get around. On the other hand, Canberra is situated in a country area and you may be more likely to need a car than you might in Sydney. Sydney has vastly more social and entertainment options than Canberra but I guess that you could say that Canberra has fewer distractions for a serious student. Sydney would have more part-time work options for a student. I think that your basic choice here is whether you would prefer to live in a large city or a small town.

Read a little bit about each field, then decide for yourself. You wouldnt want to be stuck in something you find rediculious just cz someone else thought it is fun
5
I like the sound of Master of Software Engineering for someone working only in software development or the broader based: Master of Information Technology. The latter sounds quite impressive and IT is a globally recognised term. The former leads one to believe that the area of expertise is restricted to designing software. I hope my response helps
6
It depends on your requirement. If you like to go for more technical side chose one of M.of Science in Professional Computing or M. of Software Engineering. I think Professional Computing is more technically advance course. The Master of Information Technology is normally a technical course which is not address the technical side in depth, like above ones. This is normally suited for both IT & non IT graduates. If you like to go for management side do either Information Technology Management or Business Technology.
7
If you just want to find out "which sounds the best", I would say Master of Business Technology. But if you really want to enroll in any of these, I would suggest you go through the course programme thoroughly before you make your decision.

I would master in management because that may open more doors for you. Sometimes it is hard finding a job. A lot of college grads end up doing jobs that they were not planning on doing, like working in a factory. Having a masters in management is preparation for this. It could mean the difference between being a machine operator or the plant manager (who may I add make 6 digit salaries).

Should I earn another Master's degree
Should I earn another Master's degree?
I have a Master's in Information Technology, now I am interested in an MBA. I am concerned about the rising cost of education and, if the additional degree will add significantly to my future earning potential?

An MBA makes sense if you want to rise above the IT department. You do need 2-5 years of experience before applying to a decent MBA program, or doing an EMBA (executive program). Are in a company where they will help you with tuition for school? If not, consider finding one where you can work for a few years and then perhaps get an MBA paid by the employer.
2
The MBA is the one masters degree that I could see adding to your MS in IT. An MBA in the IT field can add quite a bit of punch to a resume, if you go to a quality MBA program. But its actual value depends on what career path you see yourself on. Go to the best MBA program that you can get into, because reputation does matter to some MBA employers. At a minimum, make sure it's AACSB accredited, because a lot of employers won't look at you if it is not. Go to a traditional MBA program, in person, full time or at night or on weekends. Avoid those executive MBA programs, because a lot of employers consider those "MBA lite".
3
If you can find a job at your school, that could help offset costs. An MBA can get you a lot of places. That on top of your IT degree can make you more valuable, but not by much. If you're concerned about costs, getting a job and holding off a few years until you have some costs reigned in would be the better option.

Is a Master of Science degree in Technology Management marketable?
I am thinking about pursuing a Masters degree in either Technology Management or Information Management but was wondering if companies look for graduates in these fields? Are these type of degrees marketable in the business, government, and NGO world? Is it a wise investment? Thanks Leslie, but I am not going for an MBA but an MS in Tech. Management or Information Management. The point was not to pursue an MBA and was wondering if an MS would be lust as marketable.

WHAT I UNDERSTAND FROM MY EXPERIENCE IS MIGRATION TO AUSTRALIA IS EASIER THAN TO CANADA, BUT TO AUSTRIA IF HAVE COMPLETED UR MASTER OR DEGREE IN ANY COURSE U SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE ( I THINK 3 Y) IN THE SAME FIELD. (TO GET ENOUGH POINTS TO QUALIFY). DON'T THINK TOO MUCH AND SPOIL YOUR HEAD. GO TO A CONSULTANT AND ATTEND THEIR SEMINAR. ITS FREE AND WILL NOT COST ANY THING OR SEND YOUR BIODATA TO THEM. I'd say Web Tech. Web 2.0 is proof that systems, social sites and basically interaction as a whole is moving from the local computer to the worldwide web. Why do something small when you can act global? I guess in the end its your decision about what you enjoy more... that is the biggest thing for me... if you don't like what you do, why do it?

Master of IT in information system is better because there are many of job opportunities in this field specially if you have experience

MBA in UCLA vs MS Information Technology in CSUF
MBA in UCLA vs MS Information Technology in CSUF?
I'm working as Web Developer / Programmer and planning to get Master Degree within 1~2 year and still debating between MBA or MSIT. Based on my own research, seems like most company are looking for employee who have MBA degree than MSIT, is that true ? And also which one is better....having a master degree from UC or Cal State ? Just for additional information, the MS IT in CSUF is online, not on-campus. thanks in advance!

The MBA is much better as big corp are looking for people who can run the company. This is because IT is only good for supporting the operations of the company while the true task to make a company earn lots of money depend on the fact that the individual have some leadership and financial management qualities. A MBA goes a long way to aiding that prospect. And another thing is that management skill also means that you should be able to take charge of situations like managing people who abuse the sick leave , transport claim system and take frequent unannounced leaves.
2
Does your work give a credit for a MBA in general or more for a specific type? I've seen it go both ways. My buddy is an engineer, but the place he works doesn't care what your masters is. I've another engineer buddy who got a masters in his specific field because his company does care. In general, UCLA's Anderson school of Business is one of the best in the country. A masters is going to look better from a UC over a Cal State. Cal States have a program here or there that might prepare you for work better than a UC straight out of undergrad. Get into the grad school arena and you're almost always going to be much better off having gone to the UC. Still, an MBA vs MS IT is a bit hard to compare. In this case, I'd liken it to a Ferrari (UCLA MBA) vs. a $300 Trek road bike (Cal State Fullerton MS IT). Heads up, the Ferrari is going to kick the bike's butt. It's that obvious. However, if you're riding in the Tour de France, the Ferrari isn't going to be eligible so the bike would be better. Just like your work. If only the MS IT will give you advancement/raise opportunities, you might be better off with the MS IT. If you ever decide to leave the company or work for one that gives equal weight to any masters, the MBA from UCLA is the only choice.
3
What do you want to do with it? If you *definitely* want to stay in IT and have no intention of transitioning into management or finance or any other area, you might be better off with the MSIT. If you think you might want to move into something other than IT, you're probably better off with the MBA, as it is a more general degree and can help you transition into different areas. If you are asking which is more prestigious, a master's from a UC or a Cal State, I would say the UC master's degree is more prestigious.

You'd get a job in the same way you got one in the UK. Your UK masters degree is completely acceptable in the US - it's considered equivalent to a US masters. Are you legal to work in the US? If not, then that's a serious issue. But if so, try starting with monster.com to see what jobs are available in your region. Also check your local newspaper's classified ads - which they may have online. If there is a professional society for your type of IT work, then join it, and go to the networking meetings. Also use their job ads. That can be a really good source.

You better go for MIT in computing. I myself have done it, and it has good relevant jobs
2
If you like and are good at working with people, go with IMS. Have you been a class officer? Active in a fraternity? Active in civic organizations? If none of the above, go with MIT/MC. You'll be happier and do better working at what you enjoy most.

There are so many variables, including what the job market will be when you finish, that it's really hard to say. People flock to a certain degree program because that's what's getting the best jobs one year, and by the time they finish, the market has changed. What do you hope to DO with either of them when you finish? Whatever you do, having good soft skills is as important as which program you choose. If you haven't read Emotional Intelligence at Work, pick up a copy of that. You probably won't learn that material in school, but it's important nonetheless. A lot of people who did well in degree programs get on the job and can't get along with their co-workers and sideline their advancement because of their lack of emotional intelligence. Also, get with your school placement counselors to work through interviewing skills and how to negotiate salary, raises, and career path options, once you have a job. These things probably will determine your advancement more than which of the two degrees you complete. I knew a talented women with a degree from the Sorbonne in Paris, and she was on welfare. So the master's alone won't get you where you want to go. I would say study what you LIKE to study the most, and then find a job you like, at a company you like, for a boss you like, in a city you like, and if you can pay your student loans, your rent/mortgage, your transporation costs, put clothes on your back and food on your table with a little left over for fun, you've done well for yourself! Hope that helps.

Depends on your application. Ask yourself what kind of job you want to do, and make the decision from there. Keep in mind that the American information tech industry is struggling against foreign outsourcing. Unless you're incredibly skilled, to avoid that problem, consider either have to be self employed, or in something that can't be outsourced, such as on site service or national security positions.

Both of them are great course's if you are really into programming. It depends on what school your in and most specially on what you have learned from that course after you graduate. If you really want a lot of good job opportunity in the future, take the Computer Engineering course, aside from Software side you will also be able to master the Hardware side of computers. The job opportunity will be as twice as the two course's you have mentioned.
2
As you can tell from the two programs they are two seperate tracks of study. Many students often merge the areas of Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, and Information Technology into one heading. You are smart to stop and take a look at what the differences are and which one will provide the greatest impact in your lifelong goals. With that being said, what you should really decide is what type of role you like the most. The Computer Science is a programming/software development role. The Information Technology track looks to prepare you as more of a generalist from a support perspective. Personally I have enjoyed working and teaching the "IT" and "support" coursework, however I know many that are satisfied with software development. As far as job opportunity, growth, success. Pick the path that you enjoy the most. If you pick one over the other for financial reasons, you may never become fully vested in it as your career choice, as such, your financial reward would be limited. # # # Update in response to email Message: Can you pls add it to your answer which is the best? I wont be able to choose myself which is the better one for me. Thats why I'm asking what's your opinion or suggestion. : : : There are plenty of great careers in both tracks. There are ample jobs in almost the entire world for these positions. I've been happy with my decision in IT, I would not have been happy had I pursued CS. You really need to try them both out for yourself and figure which is the better fit.

Talk to your adviser about what sort of jobs would best fit you and ask them if they know anyone in the field that you could shadow for a couple of days, pick a few jobs from IT and a few from computer science and shadow someone in that field. Then it will help you decide what you like better and what to do. In the mean time find some courses that fit into each program and take those so you won't get too far behind in your studies.

Quite a large number but the a couple of the best programs to look into are in the Silicon Valley. You should seriously consider looking into them.

What should I do to prepare myself for an information security career
What should I do to prepare myself for an information security career?
At the moment I finished a bachelor degree on Information Technology summa cum laude. Doing 2 masters degree (one in information security, another in project management). Certified in A+, Network+, Server+ and Security+ working on MCSA and MCSE. If I wish to study a doctorate on cryptology or information security, what should be the next steps? I understand about the CISSP, but still need some more information to get ready.

I would suggest that first u look up all the university that provide the course you are looking for, then narrow the list to the best suited according to your needs. Also find out if the college provides any place for living, if not you may also want to look for colleges which do or have good places for rent around them.

What Information Technology or Computer Science degrees / certificates would be most beneficial?
I'm looking to change careers. I have a bachelor's degree in something completely unrelated to IT / CS. I'm thinking about getting a certificate from a community college, working for several years, then going for a master's degree. Yes? No? Any thoughts? Also, what area will be the most promising for career growth? Network Administration? Programming? Computer Forensics? Please advise!

Information Tech (IT) in High School
Information Tech (IT) in High School?
I am going to be a freshman next fall and I am doing electives sign ups right now. I have been looking at this Junior IT class offered. Its not recommended for freshmen but I know way more about computers than the average person. I plan to get my masters in Information Technology and Computer Sciences in college. I have my whole how based on a sever system and run it via my computer. I am way beyond in computers than any Junior in my high school. Any recommendations on whether I should take the class and if so, what should I do to be prepared for it? CSS, Java, PHP, Actionscript, anyhting they throw at me...I already know it!

yes. they might make u learn css and html so be prepared for that

This class sounds like a class I took when I was in High School. My was called the same, but it was more of a PC basics. Granted that was back in 2002/2003. It sounds like it would be an easy A for ya man. It was for me!!! LOL
3
Computer Engineer grad here. short answer: sure, if u want to. Nothing you are going to take can prepare you for what you are about to go through in college. So go ahead if u think its fun. Just don't think you are going to get some huge edge over everyone else in the real world because of it. In college, they don't care about what you did in high school
4
I wouldn't take it. You already know so much so you most likely will just be very bored out of your mind. Colleges will not look at your courses to see if they correspond to your major and future jobs are not going to look at your high school courses either.

Well, search for Vending Machine Manufacturers online and see if there's anyone near you who can collaborate on your project. Example: http://www.evending.net/shop/category.asp?catid=12 You can propose that they help you design / build from scratch, and perhaps they can loan or give you parts from an older model, and you can help them by improving on their design and give them co-author rights to any improvements or patents that comes out of your project.

How Much Work is expected in Grad School
How Much Work is expected in Grad School?
I was accepted for Gradschool, and starting my Masters in Information Technology on Jan 8, and im a bit worried. I found out that I have to maintain a 3.0 GPA every semester and an overall GPA of 3.5 to stick in the program. Im taking 8 credits, this semester thats two courses. I was going for 12 credits initially. I generally do well on IT courses, but still im worried at the high standards. Undergrad was shitty, i did OK but I could have done better. So my question, what should I expect on the grad program? is it going to be back breaking study times? Also Im 23, and im not working full time. Im concerened on interact with older people, as im thinking some of them might have families and more mature. I feel like im a little bit immature and might stick out. I love participating in class, but i dont know if I should filter all my answers to make it sound "professional." Undergrad was real easy for me, i mean I felt like i didnt really do much to get a good grade.

There is a reason the it is called Graduate work. There is a reason there are less grad students than undergrads. Yes, it is a more challenging load than your undergrad studies. It is supposed to be. When you interact with older people, just be yourself. I mean, don't go into details about the party scene, but behave comfortably and let your best attributes shine through. One last thing, I am assuming it is just because you were typing quickly and not proofreading, but the spelling and grammar you used here is scary. I will go with the "you were in a hurry" thought. :)
2
I started my grad work when I was 21. There were lots of other young students in my classes as well as some older. It was no problem. Yes, you need to post a 3.0. But I think it is a good idea to just start with 8 credits, so you can get a feel for the study time needed to post that 3.0 and even better. Since you are not working full time, use that to your advantage. A lot of grad students have no life because when they aren;t studying they are working. You have a worthy and attainable goal, but yes.... it will take discipline on your part. Good luck.
3
It depends on what you major in. I recommend Physical Education -- which is called different things at different schools. You'd have to do a lot more work in IT --especially since your question makes it look like you would have to make your way through remedial English.
4
For me, graduate school was similar to a full time job. If you aren't working -- then you should be able to do it.
5
I've heard that grad school is easier academically because you're basically expected to keep the 3.0 (at least), because below a B in a course is considered failing. At the same time, you might have to do additional work undergrads don't (ie special meetings with a prof, extra readings, etc.) Grad students also work, have families, teach or research. Don't stress too much about it, but keep up your work. Talk with your fellow grad students. Meet with your advisor.
6
When and if you get your masters.I wouldn't want to hire you.......regardless of your grades. If you are worried about the amount of work and interaction with older people I don't think you're the type of person I want working for me. Your work is your work - you do it because it is expected and you are being paid to do it. And in the world of business it is a given that you will someday encounter persons older than you. It really seems to me that you are making excuses to and for yourself and trying to convince yourself not to continue with your education...........wrong headed to my way of thinking.........go for it and I'm sure you'll grow and mature and then those old people you're worried about will be soon be YOU.
7
I found that I was expected to read 300 to 500 pages per credit. I wrote about 5 to 10 pages per credit. There was a lot of work, but it was much more interesting that my undergraduate program.
8
I have two masters degrees (I'm only 27 too, proud of myself) and I have to say that I believe they were fairly easy, easier than undergrad because they are in areas that I love. Grad school doesn't have you taking courses outside of your major so its more concentrated and most people I believe do well because they want to be there. I think you will do just fine. :)

Grad school is definitely more work. You will spend much more time reading journal articles and doing research than anything else. Most classes will require a research paper, usually 20 pages long.

The "degree of difficulty" in graduate classes is typically a little higher than undergrad work, but if the school is good, what you will find is the VOLUME of work expected is much greater. Prepare to have weekends that belong to your academic life, not for fun. Good luck.

Should I get a master's in Computer Science or Information Technology and Management
Should I get a master's in Computer Science or Information Technology and Management?
I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and I work as a supply chain analyst for a Fortune 100 company. I'm not sure if I should go CS or ITM. I enjoy programming computers, but don't have a ton of experience with it, but I also don't really enjoy business-type classes. I get bored easily... How practical are each of these degrees, what are ways in which these degrees will enhance my career and earnings potential? I'd like to start classes in the Spring, but I'm not sure which I should do.

I work as a contract project manager in financial systems application development. When I review developers' resumes the most important factor is relevant experience. The people who get interviews are the ones whose development experience most closely matches the development project for which they would be hired. Having an advanced theoretical IT degree would not count against a prospective employee, but it would not in itself promote the person over another with the right experience. Practical qualifications such as those specified by Microsoft (Certified Solutions Developer, Certified Systems Engineer) are much, much more useful to employers looking for programmers than theroretical degrees. Seeing an IT certification on a resume definitely puts the candidate towards the top of the pile. Employers know that programmers certified by Microsoft, SAP etc will have been properly trained and will be less likely to be cowboy programmers. IT certifications can take just as long to complete as masters degrees. They are modular; you complete segments of the course and can choose to specialize in areas of programming that are of more interest to you. Then, when you have completed the proscribed number of modules and passed the relevant exams you apply for certification. First you need to decide what kind of programming you want to do, for example web programming, database development, application developent etc. So if you decide for example that you want to become a MCSD (solutions developer) you would take courses with a Microsoft training partner and work towards the certification. Armed with a qualification it would be relatively easy for you to get an entry level programming position. From there you could progress to senior programmer and then into project management or move into related areas such as business analysis or testing. I don't know about earnings in the US; I work mostly in the UK. Junior developers here earn around $300 - $400 per day. Senior developers with 5 years' experience earn around $700 - $900 per day. Project managers earn $1,000+. The rates depend on company size and industry with invesment banks usually paying the most and public sector government work paying the least. The pay is very good, but when you work as a contractor you don't get a pension, sick pay, vacation pay, health benefits or indeed any other kind of benefit that you get with a permanent job. Also bear in mind that looking for your next job is part of the job. Things can get pretty tough during economic downturns but you make up for this when the economy is good. Figure that you will be in between contracts and looking for work for a few weeks or months per year, depending on how much in demand your specialism is, state of the economy etc. Permanent salaries are usually around 60-80% of contract rates. Plus you get employee benefits and some job security.

I think you should double concentrate. It looks better than just having an unconcentrated degree (that many people have). Example: You want a security IT job, obviously that concentration will help you look better. You must keep in mind that you need to do internships in IT. They will give you a big boost over other IT majors.

If i have a BS in Information technology can i get a Masters in.....?
I know that this is the wrong section, but this section ALWAYS gives the best answers in my opinion. If i have a BS in Information technology can i get a Masters something that is unrelated to IT like applied linguistics?

Everything depends on what the university you're seeking a master's from wants you to have for prerequisites. Contact some master's programs for the best and most current information. In my experience, many universities will need you to complete certain undergrad prereqs (besides holding a bachelor's in something) but not require a specific bachelor's degree. The number of prereqs might be enough to earn you a second bachelor's though LOL.

Try this, The issue does depend on which country and qualifications you have, whilst generous there isn't a complete open door policy.

Unless you really feel you need to refresh your understanding of the technology itself, it's probably more useful to do an M.B.A in Management.
